LOUIS - The Chesterfield teen who federal agents said rammed barriers near the White House will spend the weekend in jail.Sai Varshith Kandula, 19, has been given a federal public defender. A judge decided to keep Kandula behind bars until at least Tuesday, when another detention hearing has been scheduled.A prosecutor argued Kandula may be a flight risk because he is not a permanent United States resident.He's been charged with depredation of government property, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. With 34 schools, over 2,500 students, and a packed theater, two winners are now packing up to compete nationally in New York.The center stage is where groups of high schoolers from St. Louis and surrounding areas gather to showcase their talents. Suspect arrested in Aurora fatal shooting involving driver crashing into 7-Eleven A suspect has been arrested in a fatal Aurora shooting involving a driver crashing in to a 7-Eleven store.Kali Collins, 21, of Denver, was arrested Friday on investigation of first-degree murder in connection to an early morning shooting in the Centre Pointe neighborhood, police said in a news release. Officers responded to 15550 E. Mississippi Ave. and found that a driver who crashed into the store had been fatally shot.An investigation is ongoing, anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 (STOP).

DU women’s lacrosse bid for perfection ends with Final Four loss to Northwestern The University of Denver women’s lacrosse team’s bid for perfection fell two wins short Friday afternoon.Instead, the Pioneers had to settle for the best season in program history after top-seeded Northwestern eliminated DU with a 15-7 victory in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.The Pios’ first and only loss of the season dropped them to 22-1 to close out the campaign.“Only one team wins at the end of the year and Northwestern played a great game,” DU head coach Liza Kelly told reporters. “I’m just so proud of everything this team has done — in particular the senior class.
